In a quiet orphanage in India, Father Andy met a frail boy named Balu. By the age of four, Balu had lost both of his parents to HIV/AIDS. Instead of receiving comfort, he was met with rejection-stigmatized by a society still bound by fear and misinformation. Even within the orphanage, where he should have found refuge, Balu remained isolated and lonely. The place offered shelter but no warmth; rules, but no real care. Balu’s story stirred Father Andy’s heart.
This boy’s pain echoed the struggles of countless children throughout the world, forgotten in the cracks of stigma and neglect. The orphanage had failed to nurture Balu’s spirit, and that failure felt personal. At that moment, Father Andy’s purpose became clear. He would dedicate himself to the broken and the marginalized-to restore dignity, offer belonging, and give voice to those the world had long silenced.
Father Andy began his mission in 2011, providing basic needs to two orphaned children. Since then, over 1,000 children have benefited from sponsorships, food, healthcare, and education. Seven villages now have clean drinking water, and over 50 women have been lifted up through our business training programs.
DLAM continues to expand its noble mission by providing financial, advisory, and partnership resources to the underserved segments of society.
